The 2nd Digital China Summit Came to a Conclusion and Fujian Achieved a Total Investment of over 250 Billion Yuan in Contract

The 2nd Digital China Summit Came to a Conclusion in Fuzhou on May 8. During the Summit, Fujian achieved a total investment of over 450 billion Yuan through 587 digital economic projects, including a total contracted investment of over 250 billion Yuan with the signing of 308 contracts, covering IoT, big data, artificial intelligence, chip and other sectors.

The Summit comprises “one summit, one exhibition and one competition”. The new Digital China Innovation Competition has attracted 8,915 contestants from 451 universities and 1,182 enterprises. Eleven governmental organs have collectively released their informatization development policies in their respective industries and introduced a series of preferential policies, including National Internet Information Office, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, National Health Commission, SARFT, National Academy of Governance, National Space Administration, State Administration of Cultural Heritage and National Archives Administration of China. The Summit also invited Jiangsu, Guangdong and Guizhou as the host provinces to further deepen inter-provincial exchanges and cooperation on informatization.

The Digital China Exhibition has attracted a large team of leading enterprises and famous international enterprises in digital economy. It has an exhibition area of 62,000 sqm and 493 exhibitors, up by 50% and nearly 70% respectively over those of the first session. Totally 63 proprietary and patented core technologies were collectively displayed at the Summit, e.g. Huawei’s cloud A1 chip, ZTE’s cloud network ecology, Sugon’s first high-performance X86 microprocessor and new-generation silicon cube high-performance computer, Tsinghua University’s Dataway big data system software stack, etc. Initially-displayed new technologies and new products accounted for over 50% of total at this Summit.

Comprehensive coverage of 5G signals is realized at the main venue of the Summit. Baidu Brain, Tmall Spirit, all-scenario face-brushing payment, intelligent restaurant, credit block and other close-to-life “black technologies” of intelligent application scenes offered brand-new 5G and intelligent experiences to the visitors.

The guests of relevant ministries and commissions and governments of various provinces (municipalities and regions), academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering and leaders of famous domestic and international enterprises, large-scale state-owned enterprises affiliated to the State Council and unicorn enterprises also attended relevant events of the Summit. Totally 1,500-odd guests attended the Summit, up by 50% YOY. Not a single seat of the 12 sub-forums and 2 branch forums was left unoccupied. “Three Lanes and Seven Alleys: Dialogue with the Future”, “Digital Economy: Night Talks on the Minjiang River” and other themed events were attended by over 200 representatives from the industrial, academic and political sectors who discussed extensively on and contributed their valuable proposals to the development of the digital economy.
