China Accelerates Development of the Entire Embodied AI Industrial Chain as Over 70 Training Facilities Become Operational

China has continued to strengthen the foundation for the development of its embodied AI industry this year by accelerating the construction of training facilities, improving industry standards and regulatory frameworks, and promoting the transition of embodied AI from laboratory research to real-world industrial applications.
At an AI company in Zhongguancun, Beijing, an embodied AI data platform has aggregated both human video data collected from training facilities across the country and simulated synthetic data. It has delivered 1.5 million hours of human video data, achieving a globally leading scale.

China now has more than 70 operational embodied AI training facilities nationwide, with over 40 others either under construction or planned. Three major industrial clusters have taken shape in the Yangtze River Delta, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. As large volumes of real-world training data are rapidly aggregated, the data is already being used to train physical robots. In Shenzhen, a wheeled humanoid robot equipped with robotic arms has been trained with such data and can perform complex tasks, including opening and closing electrical cabinets and operating industrial valves.

As training data from perse real-world scenarios continues to grow in both volume and persity, it provides ongoing support for robot iteration and optimization, accelerating the development of China’s entire embodied AI industrial chain. In 2025, China’s core AI industry surpassed 1.2 trillion yuan (about $170 billion) in scale, with more than 6,200 enterprises nationwide.

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with other government departments, launched a dedicated initiative focusing on three major areas — industrial, service and specialized application sectors — to build a closed-loop industrial system covering “real-world training, data accumulation, product iteration and large-scale deployment.” Looking ahead, China will continue to strengthen embodied AI training facility clusters, promote the implementation of industry standards, expand real-world training scenarios and accelerate the adoption of embodied AI products across a wide range of industries.
