On January 13, a promotion conference for exhibition participation and investment cooperation for the 9th Digital China Summit was held in Chengdu. At the event, the Fujian Provincial Data Administration unveiled the province’s impressive achievements in digital economy development and offered a preview of this year’s highlights of the upcoming summit. Meanwhile, cities across Fujian took turns presenting their digital industry investment opportunities. Representatives from government agencies, leading enterprises, and industry associations gathered for in-depth discussions. The informative and practical presentations ignited strong enthusiasm for cooperation. Participants spoke highly of the development prospects of Digital Fujian and Digital Fuzhou, expressing great anticipation for the forthcoming grand digital event.
“As early as 2000, Comrade Xi Jinping, then Governor of Fujian Province, demonstrated strategic foresight by making the decision to advance the development of ‘Digital Fujian,’ planting the seeds of digital transformation across the province,” said an official from the Fujian Provincial Data Administration. “After more than two decades of sustained efforts, Digital Fujian has grown from a pioneer into a national benchmark. Fujian consistently ranks among the top provinces nationwide in comprehensive digital development and is accelerating the implementation of one of China’s only two comprehensive pilot programs for building Digital China. Its digital economy remains in the country’s first tier, with complete industrial chains formed in artificial intelligence, big data, the industrial internet, and the Internet of Things, and a number of leading enterprises emerging in niche sectors. The province’s digital government service capacity has been rated ‘Excellent’ for three consecutive years, with digital transformation deeply integrated into industrial development, government services, and public welfare, ensuring that the dividends of digitalization benefit tens of millions of people.”
Behind this impressive “report card” stands the sustained empowerment of a national-level high-end platform — the Digital China Summit. Since 2018, the summit has been successfully held for eight consecutive years in Fuzhou, Fujian, with its role as a comprehensive platform continuing to expand through its “Four Major Platform” effects:
As a policy launch hub, central government agencies, including the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Data Administration, and the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, have released over 180 national-level policy reports, providing strategic guidance for the development of the digital economy.
As a showcase window for achievements, more than 2,500 organizations have participated in exhibitions, attracting over 2 million on-site visits, vividly demonstrating the transformative power of digital technologies.
As a forum for dialogue and innovation, over 8,700 distinguished guests and 2,300 experts and scholars have engaged in in-depth discussions on development pathways; more than 160,000 participants have taken part in innovation competitions; and 23 provinces have successively served as Guest Provinces of Honor, deepening interregional cooperation.
As a bridge for cooperation and industrial matchmaking, over 3,400 projects have been signed and implemented, with total investment exceeding RMB 2 trillion. Leading enterprises such as Huawei and China’s three major telecom operators have leveraged the summit to achieve deep integration across upstream and downstream industrial chains.
The on-site interactive area constitutes a key component of the Digital China Summit. Over the past eight years, exhibitors have represented all 31 provinces (autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government), as well as Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Fortune Global 500 companies and China’s top enterprises have actively participated, showcasing cutting-edge core technologies and generating growing brand influence. At the promotion event, a representative from the Fuzhou organizing committee’s exhibition task force announced: “The on-site interactive area of the 9th Digital China Summit is scheduled for late April this year, featuring a core exhibition area of 56,000 square meters. A series of events, including new technology and product launches, will be held concurrently. We look forward to welcoming guests to Fuzhou, the City of Blessings, to participate in this digital event.”
The summit extended a warm invitation, and local enterprises responded enthusiastically, with participation registration reaching a new high. At the event, representatives from 10 outstanding organizations, including China FAW Group, DBAPPSecurity, and YUNECT, took part in the pre-signing ceremony for exhibition participation in the on-site interactive area of the 9th Digital China Summit.
Yu Haiyang, Director of Data Management at the Digital Systems Department of China FAW Group, stated: “By actively participating in all segments of the Digital China Summit, including forums and the on-site interactive area, our company has achieved fruitful results. In 2026, we will create an immersive exhibition area for intelligent and digital transformation, comprehensively showcasing FAW’s in-depth practices and quantifiable achievements in digital transformation. Through corporate governance innovation, we aim to empower Chinese modernization and lead the industry toward a new paradigm of intelligent and digital governance.”
Hu Xiaonan, Vice President of Marketing of YUNECT Information Technology Co., Ltd., noted: “The Digital China Summit is a truly high-end platform. YUNECT has participated for four consecutive years. We have not only showcased new technologies and products, but also achieved extensive cooperation and exchanges with partners, growing alongside the summit. Next, we will continue to deepen our engagement in the field of data elements, present our latest innovations at this year’s summit, and work with all stakeholders to build a trusted, efficient, and sustainable ecosystem for data circulation.”
The promotion event combined exhibition recruitment with investment promotion. Representatives from the Fuzhou Investment Promotion Office, Gulou District of Fuzhou, Dongqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone of Ningde, and Siming District of Xiamen took the stage in succession to introduce their respective investment policies and development environments, drawing strong interest from the business community.
A representative from the Fuzhou Investment Promotion Office offered a comprehensive interpretation of the unique strengths of Fuzhou. As the capital of Fujian Province, Fuzhou has achieved remarkable progress in reform, opening-up, and modernization, guided by major development strategies such as the “3820” Strategic Project, the Golden Triangle Economic Circle at Minjiang Estuary, and the vision of building a modern international city. In the field of the digital economy, Fuzhou has actively integrated into the development of the national-level pilot zones for the innovation and development of the digital economy (Fujian) and has established a new-generation information technology “543X” industry track framework, providing enterprises with fertile “policy soil” and expansive “industrial space.” With a focus on frontier sectors including the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and industrial digitalization, the city has introduced a series of targeted policies, forming a full-chain support system encompassing basic research, technological breakthroughs, results transformation, and ecosystem cultivation.
As the digital tide surges, development momentum continues to accelerate. According to an official from the Fuzhou Municipal Data Administration, as the host city of the Digital China Summit, Fuzhou has leveraged the momentum accumulated through eight consecutive summits, achieving substantial progress in the development of Digital Fuzhou. Today, “digital” has become deeply embedded in the daily lives of Fuzhou residents. The city has rolled out a series of landmark applications across government efficiency, public services, public wellbeing, and social governance, ensuring that the dividends of digital development benefit households across the city. The digital economy has become the core engine driving Fuzhou’s high-quality economic and social development. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the sector has maintained double-digit annual growth, surpassing RMB 790 billion in 2024, accounting for over 55% of the city’s GDP. “Preparations for the 9th Digital China Summit are progressing steadily. Fuzhou will devote its utmost enthusiasm and provide the highest standard of services to enhance every entrepreneur’s sense of participation and achievement. Through activities such as innovation competitions, we will continue to stimulate innovation across society. A large number of first releases and debut exhibitions will be unveiled at the summit. We warmly welcome guests from across the country to gather in Fuzhou and experience the latest achievements in the development of Digital China,” the official added.
