The China International Big Data Industry Expo 2025 (Big Data Expo) concluded on August 30 in Guiyang, Guizhou. Over the three days, representatives from domestic and international government agencies, business leaders, scholars, and experts gathered to exchange ideas under the theme “Data Drives Industrial Momentum, Intelligence Unlocks the Future.” A total of 89 events were held, attracting more than 55,000 participants, including over 16,000 registered guests from around the world, with 375 Chinese and foreign enterprises exhibiting.

This year’s Big Data Expo actively fostered a platform for connecting supply and demand in innovative digital economy solutions. An international exhibition area for supply-and-demand collaboration was set up, accompanied by global matchmaking and exchange activities. The Expo highlighted a broad spectrum of digital solutions and best practices, promoting innovation and development across the global digital economy.

This year’s Big Data Expo highlighted the main thread of the “reform in the market-oriented allocation of data elements” throughout all its events. During the Big Data Expo, the Beijing International Big Data Exchange, Shenzhen Data Exchange, and Guiyang Big Data Exchange jointly hosted the “Data Trading Ecosystem Conference.” “Data, as a new type of production factor, has become a driving force for high-quality development,” said Zhang Guangqi, Vice Chairman of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. “The joint organization of the Data Trading Ecosystem Conference by the three exchanges represents a concrete effort to consolidate the national data ecosystem.”

At the Big Data Expo, experts, scholars, and industry leaders explored cutting-edge topics and engaged in in-depth discussions, collectively envisioning a future where humans, machines, and the world coexist in harmony. At the “2025 Big Data Expo · DATA Night,” hosted by People’s Daily Online and Guizhou Big Data Group, over 200 representatives from the government, industries, universities, research institutes, and end users, both at home and abroad, gathered to explore pathways for innovation and integration across data and embodied intelligence industries. Ren Xianliang, Secretary-General of the World Internet Conference (WIC), noted that embodied intelligence technologies and applications, represented by humanoid robots, are developing at a rapid pace, emerging as a new frontier in global science and technology competition in the era of digital intelligence. To seize the opportunities presented by embodied intelligence and address potential risks and challenges, he emphasized the need to further promote open-source development, advance the joint creation and sharing of high-quality datasets, and deepen global open cooperation, ensuring that technological achievements benefit human society.

During the conference, a professional exhibition was held to showcase cutting-edge technologies and applications in areas such as digital infrastructure, AI large models, data security, and intelligent terminals. At the same time, a series of activities, including supply-and-demand matchmaking, corporate roadshows, technical seminars, and enterprise product launches, were held, establishing a specialized platform that integrates technology exchange, business networking, and the commercialization of achievements.

This year’s Big Data Expo showcased over 1,300 new products, technologies, and solutions, drawing 91,000 visitors. The exhibition featured six themed pavilions: Digital and Intelligent Leadership, Digital and Intelligent Infrastructure, Digital and Intelligent Services, Digital and Intelligent Applications, Digital and Intelligent Innovations, and Digital and Intelligent Technology Experience, spanning a total professional exhibition area of 60,000 square meters.

Three robotic dogs moved nimbly through the exhibition, automatically detecting equipment malfunctions and accurately pinpointing potential hazards. Visitors tried on exoskeleton devices to experience high-intensity work... At the Digital and Intelligent Infrastructure pavilion, China Southern Power Grid’s innovative projects, which integrate data elements with AI technologies, attracted significant attention from visitors. “We are fully embracing the development of AI, using high-quality datasets to create high-quality large models and leveraging these models to empower relevant scenarios, resulting in 292 deeply applied AI solutions across industries,” said Long Yun, General Manager of the Digitalization Department at China Southern Power Grid.

Walking through the exhibition, visitors explored the reconstruction capabilities of bionic hands, experienced the powerful features of AI smart glasses, and discovered AI-powered end-to-end tourism solutions... A range of cutting-edge technologies and innovative products were unveiled, offering a digital exhibition that combined striking visual impact with immersive experiences.

This year marks the 11th successful edition of the Big Data Expo. During the Big Data Expo, 90 releases, including theoretical reports, industry standards, typical cases, and technological achievements, were unveiled. Three major competitions were successfully held: the Guizhou Division of the “Data Elements ×” Competition, the Guizhou Division of the 9th Industrial Information Security Skills Competition (AI Security Championship), and the Guizhou Division of the “Huawei Developers” Competition. Focusing on the data, computing power, and AI industries, the Big Data Expo facilitated supply-and-demand matchmaking, planned 100 digital economy projects, and attracted investments totaling 46.336 billion yuan.
